It’s not worth it.
I didn’t even download it to be honest. I found it on Spotify and listened to it there because ironically I’m tired of downloading music that I never end up listening too.
And guess what?
That shit was a damn mess. All I remember is her singing the same few words over and over and over and over and over and …
(See how annoying that got? Exactly what I felt like listening to her mixtape.)
Sounds like Ms. Badu was just trying way too hard to fit in with the younger crowd, and I don’t know what for, she’s a damn good artist! F*ck you remixing these young cats songs for? Ugh!
Do you girl, do YOU! Ugh.
I’m really disappointed, because I mean, it’s Erykah Badu! Hello! It should be dripping excellence and glittering gold.
But I guess not …
If you don’t believe me, you can listen to it yourself here.
Now tell me the truth, are you feeling it or nah?
And don’t lie! Lol
This wasn’t a work for everyone: it’s one of those things you have to sit and listen to and allow to grow on you. But, yeah. It’s a mixtape.
I feel you on icons covering the work of new artists. There is something in me that rises up and screams HELL NO.

Yeah, I totally just had a discussion about works that have to be listened to over and over for you to like it. LOL
I always tell people I’m worse than the folks in the music industry, they’ll at least listen to 30 seconds from a few of your songs. But if I hear 20 seconds from one song and I’m already not interested, I don’t wanna hear a damn thing else LOL
& That’s what happened. I was turned off from the very first song, like that should have been in the middle of the tape, wdh!
Thanks for commenting though! I could rant on about this all damn day if y’all let me lol

Awww man! I loved it, but I can understand that it isn’t for everyone. I loved the idea that she worked with a theme, I love that she worked with André. It isn’t something you fall in love with right away. This is one of those works you have to allow to grow on you, and since it is just a mixtape? Yeah, ain’t gonna happen! Lol

Girl the best part of the album is the last song with Andre (and I only liked HIS verse) LOL Smh! Your featured artist should not be better than your entire album, excuse me, mixtape! Lol

So, I just finished listening to it,and I didn’t know the whole thing was about being or not being on the phone. Is it something to bump in the car? Nope. But is it good for writing or chilling with some herbal tea and a book? Yep. I listened to it while blogging and it was good background music, but nah, it’s not a banger like some of her other stuff. #BLMGirl

Yes! Background music while you’re doing something else, I can totally digg! But just to listen for enjoyment? Neh!
Then again, I don’t even think I can bump this on the train going to work. LOL
Because when I listened to it, it was during the night just chilling. NVM! Lol
Thanks for commenting tho! 🙂

OMG!! I love this mixtape! Have you listened to it all the way through? It kind of meshes all together and makes better sense. “Hello” with Andre 3000 is brilliant! I’m a die-hard Erykah fan though, LMBO, so I may be biased. Sorry you didn’t like it 😕 #BLMGirl

Did you really? Lol
And I didn’t listen to the songs completely, but I skipped through the entire thang! It was .. um .. not quite what I would expect from her at all! Lol
I don’t think you’re biased though, I think you just liked it lol
